Forestry workers anesthetized the mad takin and anesthesiatransported it to the wild animal protection center of Shaanxi Province on April 17, 2009.

The state-protected animal rushed into a village located in the city's Chang'an district and attacked four farmers. It killed a dog that tried to stop it from injuring a woman. The woman was saved.

After receiving the report, police anesthetized the animal and handed it over to the wild animal protection center. Experts in the center said that the takin might have failed to win a partner during the mating season and fled its mountain habitat.
