With the upcoming Spring Festival and the frenzy of gift-giving,
the problems associated with gorgeous packaging are becoming
something acute in China. Many commodities on the market are
extravagantly wrapped, becoming several times bigger than the
products themselves.
There are no more martial arts films on Chinese screens this
year. The Chinese film masters are all preparing for their own
projects starring such many big names as Chow Yun-Fat, Andy Lau and
Tony Leung.
Experts suggest producers adopt plainer packaging policies, and
minimize their size, as well as diverting materials to ensure that
packaging is recyclable.
Lu yangang, with the State Administration for Industry and
Commerce also stresses the point.
"We need to reinforce the reining-in of extravagant packaging.
Furthermore, we need to prevent consumers from possible fraud
caused by inflated packaging."
He called on people to drop the package-above-all mind in the
purchases and change to a "green consumption" concept.
