99.42% of farm produce exports pass Japanese tests
Adjust font size:

A Ministry of Agriculture official said on Monday 99.42 percent of China's farm produce exports passed Japanese quality inspections last year, quoting figures provided by the Japanese government.

"Chinese products are the most frequently tested in Japan, but report the best quality, too," said Zhang Yuxiang, an official in charge of the ministry's market and economic division.

She said the 99.42 percent, reported by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, was higher than the international average level.

"It's also higher than figures reported of the United States and European Union," Zhang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the First Session of the 11th National People's Congress.
