Yang Yuanqing, chairman of the board of Lenovo Group Limited, presented his insight into his company's role related to the coming Summer Olympics during a press interview in Beijing on March 11.
The 45-year-old Yang Yuanqing is also a member of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) which is holding its annual session in Beijing.
The 2008 Beijing Olympics, now less than five months away, was an unavoidable motif in the interview.
Yang said that Lenovo, as a top-tier sponsor of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, is supplying computers and other equipment as well as 500 engineers to the Beijing organizers to give the Games a hi-tech vibe and ensure its successful management.
Lenovo has also entered into a partnership with CCTV to select participants for the Olympic torch relay.
"Lenovo will leap at this rare chance to spread brand awareness worldwide," he asserted.
