The newly-elected chairman and vice-chairpersons of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) gathered on Friday afternoon for their first meeting.
They decided to convene the first session of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee on March 14-15.
The meeting approved an agenda for the Standing Committee session, which include deliberating a draft decision to set up special committees under the CPPCC National Committee, and appointing the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the special committees.
The Standing Committee session will also deliberate a draft name list of deputy secretaries-general of the CPPCC National Committee.
Friday's meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, who was reelected chairman of the CPPCC National Committee on Thursday.
The just-concluded First Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee also elected 25 vice-chairpersons, a secretary-general and 298 Standing Committee members.
