Jiang Jufeng was elected governor of southwest
China's Sichuan Province by the provincial legislature
on Wednesday.
Jiang, 59, was elected at the fifth session of the 10th Sichuan
Provincial People's Congress.
He was appointed acting governor of Sichuan on Jan. 23.
Jiang, a native of east China's Zhejiang Province, graduated
from Fudan University in Shanghai in 1982. He became a member of
the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the same year.
Jiang worked as secretary of the CPC Wenzhou City Party
Committee in Zhejiang, from June 1998 to March 2002.
Jiang has been deputy governor of Sichuan since April 2002.
