Zhu Zhigang was appointed director of the Budgetary Work Commission of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee on Thursday.
The decision was made by the 32nd session of the Standing Committee of the Tenth NPC, China's top legislature.
Zhu of Han nationality, was born in May 1950 in Beijing. He began to work in 1968 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1973. He has been working as Vice Minister of Finance since July 2000.
On the same day, Liu Jibin, Zhu's predecessor, was removed from the post for age reason.
