China promulgates safety statute for its army

Hu Jintao, chairman of China's Central Military Commission, has approved a statute on the safety governance of the country's People's Liberation Army.

The statute aims to strengthen military management and ensure the army's stability, fighting prowess and comprehensive army building.

The regulations, with 100 articles in 12 chapters, cover every aspect of the army's safety management, including the system on preventing and dealing with emergencies.

The regulations also specify the time, contents and methods for safety education and safety trainings.

The regulations give priority to precautions, and provide a system for safety analyse forecast, danger evaluation and safety inspection. Danger evaluation is written in army rules for the first time.
