The Ministry of Civil Affairs on Wednesday said that the landslides and mud-rock flows in Yunnan Province, which left 40 dead and 43 missing, had caused losses of up to 592 million yuan (86.6 million US dollars).
The province's electricity, transport, hydropower, telecommunications, education and sanitation facilities were damaged or destroyed.
The ministry is to allocate 13 million yuan (1.9 million U.S. dollars) for relief work in the province.
