Post-quake infrastructure revamp to cost US$24 bln
Adjust font size:

China's top economic planner said Friday the investment in post-quake infrastructure reconstruction was estimated at 167 billion yuan (US23.9 billion).

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a special post-quake infrastructure reconstruction plan the money would go to a variety of sectors including transport, telecommunications, energy and water resources to aid the reconstruction in Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces.

The area was hit by a massive quake in May.

The plan was worked out jointly by the NDRC, the ministries of transport, railways, industry and information technology, and water resources and the National Energy Administration.
