Ho Stresses Reform, Responsibility in Policy Address
Adjust font size:

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), underscored reform and responsibility yesterday in his 90-minute policy address.

Ho reviewed the MSAR government's work in the fiscal year of 2006 in the address, which was delivered at the Legislative Assembly.

In the past year of his administration the government has been running under an effective and mature system with the support of the central government, Ho said.

He previewed eight policy key points for the next fiscal year including administrative and judicial reform, human resources, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and the building of a harmonious society.

"Reform is to help tackle the challenges imposed by the social changes and responsibility is to be the base of the social harmony," said Ho.

He stated that Macao was to accomplish the mission of building a harmonious society with the help of the policy of "one country, two systems."

Ho is to attend the general conference of the Legislative Assembly (LA) today to be questioned by the LA members.
