Macao Vows to Tackle Resident Housing Shortage
Adjust font size:

Lau Si Io, Macao's secretary for Transport and Public Works, said on Sunday that the government has enough land resources to solve the resident housing shortage.

Lau told the media when hosting the foundation cementing ceremony of a new resident apartment building that the concerned authorities have sketched a resident housing scheme and presented it to Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Edmund Ho Hau Wah.

The government plans to set up 19,000 new apartment units after assessing the residents' needs, said the official.

He added that the government will as well be in a hard bid to tackle problems concerning traffic, parking, bus routes and other public worries.

Macao has a population of 502,000.
