Former vice mayor of east China's Hangzhou City Xu Maiyong has resigned from the city legislature, four months after he was dismissed as vice mayor for "serious discipline violations."
Xu submitted his resignation to the People's Congress of Hangzhou at the end of last month, and it was officially accepted by the legislature at a meeting on Aug. 12, the Congress Standing Committee announced Friday.
Xu, 50, was appointed vice mayor in April last year. The Zhejiang provincial committee of the Communist Party of China announced in April this year that he was under investigation by disciplinary authorities.
The authorities have given no other details of the case.
