A dead bird earlier in Hong Kong was confirmed to be H5N1
positive after a series of laboratory tests, said Hong Kong's
Agriculture Fisheries and Conservation Department Friday.
It said the long-tailed Shrike collected on March 3 by
department staff was confirmed affected by H5N1 virus. The
department will follow the development of the situation.
A department spokesman reminded people to observe good personal
hygiene.
