One person among the 123 people hospitalized Tuesday morning due to suspected food poisoning in Sri Lanka's eastern port town of Trincomalee has died but the others are out of danger, said public health officials here.
Officials from the Health Ministry's Public Health Services Division said 123 people, including 75 children, were taken ill and admitted to the hospital after eating buns from a bakery in the area.
They said some of the patients were admitted to the intensive care unit in the morning and one adult died there but the other patients are out of danger.
The government has launched an investigation into the incident, said the officials.
