Venezuelan health authorities on Thursday confirmed the country's first imported case of the A/H1N1 flu.
A 22-year-old man from the northern state of Miranda traveled to Panama on May 20 and felt slightly sick when he returned Monday, but he did not report the symptoms at the airport, reports said.
He went to a private clinic for treatment when the symptoms aggravated, and was later tested and registered as a suspected case.
He has since been quarantined at home and is receiving anti-virus treatment, the health authorities said, adding he is in stable condition.
Six people who had been in close contact with him and 80 other people on the same flight with him are being monitored.
