Taiwan had 58 A/H1N1 influenza cases as of Wednesday, with three new cases reported, according to the local epidemic prevention department.
Among the three cases, two patients arrived from the United States and central America. The other case was locally contracted.
Among the 58 cases, 56 patients had been overseas. Twenty-eight patients had recently been to Thailand and 21 returned from the United States.
The health department said it would conduct a full-scale evaluation of the flu situation.
The department also said it would decide on June 30 whether Kaohsiung would hold the World Games 2009 as scheduled. The games are set to start on July 16.
