S Korea's A/H1N1 flu cases climb to 128

South Korea's A/H1N1 flu infection climbed to 128 with seven additional cases newly confirmed on Wednesday, health authorities said.

According to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family Affairs, the newly confirmed patients, including five American high school students who visited South Korea for a field trip, were declared positive on the influenza A test.

With the recent cases, South Korea's A/H1N1 flu cases stand at 128 as of Wednesday afternoon, with 35 people including five unconfirmed patients still remaining in isolated hospitals.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 50,000 were confirmed cases with the new flu infection worldwide since the first case was detected in April, causing a total of 231 deaths.

No death case has been reported in South Korea since the first case of infection was confirmed.
