Thailand reported 86 newly confirmed A/H1N1 flue cases Wednesday morning, bringing the country's total number of infection cases to 985, Thai media reported.

Bangkok Post online quoted Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewoaradai as saying that of all the infected people, 970 have been fully recovered, and only 15 of them are being watched at hospitals by health authority.

In addition, doctors have seen improving signs on a 57-year-old female A/H1N1 flu patient, who was reportedly in critical condition, Witthaya added.

Witthaya also admitted that the lab tests had confirmed four students of pre-cadet school in Satthaheep district of Chon Buri have contracted the new strain of virus. Their other classmates have not infected with the flu but are being placed at a special ward for a close watch.

Thailand reported its first two confirmed flu cases on May 12 and the pace of the epidemic has been slow until June 12, when 43 cases were confirmed across the country in single one day.
