The Chinese National People's Congress (NPC), China's top
legislature, is willing to strengthen legislative exchanges and
cooperation with the German side, Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing
Committee Li Tieying said.
The NPC attaches great importance to the relations with
Bundestag, the lower house of German parliament, and is ready to
further improve the mechanism of bilateral exchanges and
cooperation, especially in the legislative field, Li said during
his talks with Bundestag President Norbert Lammert on Tuesday.
Li expressed his satisfaction over the smooth development of
Sino-German relations, and hoped that the friendly cooperation will
be expanded in various areas.
Li, who arrived in Germany on Sunday for a four-day visit, also
held talks with German Vice Chancellor Franz Muentefering earlier
Tuesday.
The German side hailed the good Germany-China relationship and
the frequent exchange of high-level visits.
It reiterated that Germany adheres to the one-China policy and
is willing to promote cooperation with China in world affairs.
