Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the
Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met in Beijing on
Monday with a delegation of the African Party for Democracy and
Socialism (PADS) from Senegal.
The delegation was led by the party's Secretary-General Landing
Savane, who is also a senior minister of the presidential cabinet
of Senegal.
Wang noted that both China and Senegal are developing countries
which share common interests in the pursuit of further
development.
"This lays a solid foundation for the two countries to conduct
friendly cooperation in various fields," said Wang.
Wang said that the CPC is ready to strengthen exchanges and
cooperation with the PADS in order to enhance the overall
China-Senegal relations.
Wang also briefed the guest on China's building of socialism
with Chinese characteristics.
Savane spoke highly of the achievements made by the Chinese
people in the CPC-led reform and opening up drive. Senegal is eager
to learn from China about relevant experience, he said.
Savane stressed in the meeting that his country will stick to
the one-China policy and make continuous efforts to further promote
the friendship between the two parties and the two nations.
