Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the
Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met in Beijing
Tuesday with a Japanese ruling alliance delegation.
The delegation is co-headed by Hidenao Nakagawa, chairman of the
Liberal Democratic Party Policy Research Council, and Yoshihisa
Inoue, chairman of the Komei Party Policy Research Council.
The officials of the ruling parties of both China and Japan all
agreed that in-depth, frank and extensive exchange of views in
accordance with principles of the three documents signed by the two
countries is conducive to increasing mutual understanding and
trust.
Wang expressed the hope that the statesmen of Japanese ruling
parties could play a positive role in helping the Japanese
government and leaders make correct political decisions as early as
possible so as to resolve the history issue.
The Japanese delegation came here to attend the first meeting
under the China-Japan Ruling Parties Exchange Mechanism from
February 21 to 22.
