China appreciates Poland's adherence to the one-China policy, and is ready to make joint efforts with Poland to further promote the development of bilateral friendly cooperation, said Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Beijing on Wednesday.

Li made the remarks in a meeting with his Polish counterpart Stefan Meller, who arrived here on Tuesday for an official visit.

Li said since the establishment of China-Poland diplomatic ties, the two countries have achieved major progress in their cooperation in politics, trade, economy and culture.

China attaches importance to its relations with Poland, and will join hands with Poland to promote bilateral friendly cooperation, he said.

Meller said his government values its relations with China, and is willing to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields. He reiterated that the Polish government will continue to firmly pursue the one-China policy.

The two sides also conferred on international and regional issues of common concern.
