China's top legislator Wu Bangguo attended in Bucharest on
Thursday the opening ceremony of the Sino-Romanian economic and
trade forum and delivered a speech on the issue of further
strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two
countries.
Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National
People's Congress, is here for a three-day official and good-will
visit.
The political relationship between China and Romania is very
good and there are no political obstacles between the two
countries, as China and Romania have a traditional friendship, Wu
told the forum, which was attended by more than 600 government
officials and businessmen from the two sides.
The major task for the businessmen of China and Romania is to
further enhance the standard of economic and trade cooperation
between the two countries, especially in such areas as large-scale
project cooperation, said Wu.
He also urged the joint economic and trade committee of China
and Romania to play an important role in promoting mutual
cooperation in the fields of information, communication,
infrastructure construction, agriculture and environment.
Bogdan Olteanu, president of Romanian Chamber of Deputies, also
spoke during the opening ceremony.
The forum was jointly organized by the Commerce Ministries of
