Chinese Top Lawmaker Meets Colombia's Congress President
Adjust font size:

Chinese top lawmaker Wu Bangguo met in Beijing Tuesday with Colombia's Congress President Claudia Blum.

The two agreed that bilateral relations have developed rapidly over the past 26 years and the two countries should further deepen ties through parliamentary and inter-party exchanges.

Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), expressed China's appreciation for Colombia's support on the issues including Taiwan and human rights.

In response, Blum said to enhance reciprocal cooperation with China in economy, culture, science, education and anti-drug campaign is the common aspiration of Colombia's major political forces and Colombia firmly abides by the one-China policy.

Wu is also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Blum is paying an eight-day visit to China as head of a delegation of the Colombia radical party.
