Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh
Rasmussen hailed in Helsinki, Finland yesterday the smooth
expansion of Sino-Danish relations, vowing to boost bilateral
cooperation as well as cooperation between Asia and Europe.
In a meeting on the sidelines of the sixth summit of the
Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), Wen said China and Denmark should
enhance political dialogue and coordination, and tap the full
potential of economic cooperation.
Wen also tabled several proposals for boosting bilateral ties,
including elevating cooperation levels in science, environmental
protection, energy and biological technology, expanding cultural
exchanges and people-to-people exchanges, as well as promoting
cooperation between Asia and Europe.
Rasmussen, for his part, said the Danish side hoped to set up a
strategic dialogue mechanism with China as soon as possible. He
said Denmark would take various measures to boost bilateral
cooperation on trade, environmental protection and energy.
He pledged that the Danish side would continue to make more
efforts to promote bilateral ties, and it would also join hands
with China to boost cooperation between Europe and Asia.
