Vice Commerce Minister Wei Jianguo on Sunday evening signed
memorandum of understanding respectively with four African
ministers from Algeria, Sudan, the Central African Republic and
Sierra Leone on acknowledgment of China's full market economy
status.
The four ministers are Algerian Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research Rachid Harraoubia, Sudanese Minister of Finance
Al-Zobeir Ahmed Hassan, Foreign Minister of the Central African
Republic Come Zoumara and Foreign Minister of Sierra Leone Momodu
Koroma.
They believed that since its reform and opening-up, China has
made remarkable achievements in building the market economy system,
and therefore, the four governments acknowledged China's full
market economy status.
Wei appreciated their acknowledgment. He said President Hu
Jintao has announced China's measures in stepping up cooperation
with Africa and China will sincerely implement these plans to help
African countries to enhance their own developing capacities.
China is willing to expand economic cooperation with African
countries so as to achieve the goal of common prosperity, Wei
said.
So far, 13 African countries have granted China the full market
economy status.
