Adjust font size:

Top legislator Wu Bangguo met with Pham The Duyet, chairman of the presidium of central committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front in Beijing Thursday.

China and Vietnam, both as socialist countries, have witnessed deepening political trust and effective cooperation in various fields, said Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

Under the complex and volatile international situation, it is in the fundamental interests of both countries to further consolidate and strengthen China-Vietnam friendship, said Wu.

The NPC will work with the Vietnamese parliament to facilitate nation-to-nation relations, Wu noted.

Vietnam cherished friendship with China and expressed admiration for the achievements China has made in its reform and opening-up process, said Pham The Duyet, adding that Vietnam will make efforts to lift bilateral relations to a new height.

Pham The Duyet, at the invitation of Chinese top political advisor Jia Qinglin, started his China visit on November 5.
