A senior Chinese leader on Tuesday vowed to further the all-round cooperation with South Korea, including the exchanges between parties.

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee met with Park Geun-hye, former president of the Grand National Party (GNP) of South Korea, agreeing on "deepening the comprehensive and cooperative partnership."

The year of 2007 marks the 15th anniversary of the Sino-South Korean diplomatic ties. China pledged to take the chance to enrich the content of the bilateral cooperation and make new contribution to peace, stability and development of northeast Asia and the world as a whole, Li said.

Park Geun-hye said the 5000-year-long friendly exchanges between South Korea and China had laid the foundation for the fruitful cooperation between the two countries over the past decade.

She said the GNP had contributed to the establishment of South Korea-China diplomatic ties, and it will keep on its contribution on strengthening the friendly relations with the CPC in the new era.
