Chinese and Uruguayan parliaments leaders vowed to strengthen
cooperation in Beijing Monday afternoon.
The National People's Congress (NPC) of China would like to work
with the Uruguayan parliament to improve the exchanges between
parties, enterprises and local governments of the two countries,
said top legislator Wu Bangguo.
Wu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, made the remarks
when he met with Julio Cardozo, president of the Chamber of
Deputies of the National Congress of Uruguay.
Wu said both China and Uruguay are developing countries and have
the political foundation for further development of bilateral
ties.
He said China and Uruguay have maintained close cooperation of
reciprocity since they forged diplomatic ties 19 years ago, which
has benefited the two peoples.
He voiced the belief that the cooperation between the two
countries will be furthered in a stable and sustainable way.
Cardozo said the Uruguayan parliament will promote friendly
exchanges with the NPC to push forward the all-round Sino-Uruguayan
relations.
