Polish president's special envoy Kazimierz Michal Ujazdowski on
Wednesday said he hoped China can support Poland in its bidding for
the 2012 World Expo.
Ujazdowski, Polish minister of culture and national heritage, is
visiting Shanghai, the host city of the 2010 expo.
According to Ujazdowski, Wroclaw in southwest Poland is bidding
for the 2012 World Expo. Wroclaw was once competing with Shanghai
in bidding for the 2010 World Expo.
It is worthwhile for Poland to learn from Shanghai's experience
in preparing for the expo, said Ujazdowski, adding that he believed
the Shanghai World Expo will be a sure success.
He also confirmed that Poland will participate in the 2010 World
Expo in Shanghai and it will mainly show contents related with
famous Polish pianist Chopin as the year 2010 coincides with the
200th birthday of the great Polish musician.
"I believe the Shanghai World Expo will provide an opportunity
for more cooperation and exchanges between the Chinese and Polish
people," Ujazdowski said.
Ujazdowski began his China tour on Monday. During his stay in
Beijing, He met with State Councilor Chen Zhili and gave a
presentation on Wroclaw to Chinese journalists at the Polish
Embassy in Beijing.
