Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat
Aziz on Monday met separately with visiting Chinese Foreign
Minister Li Zhaoxing on bilateral ties and regional and
international issues of mutual concern.
During the meetings, Pakistani leaders said the ongoing
cooperation between Pakistan and China in political, economic,
diplomatic and security fields is successful and has achieved
results of significance in many mega projects.
Considering China as a trusted global partner, Pakistan is
looking forward to consolidating the existing good relations and
further deepening the cooperation in fields including economy,
finance, science and technology, agriculture and education,
Pakistani leaders said.
During the meeting, Li reiterated that China and Pakistan are
good neighbors, good friends, good partners, and good brothers.
The successful highest-level exchange visits in 2006 between
China and Pakistan have brought the bilateral relations to a new
phase, and currently the concerned departments in China are working
to push forward the all-dimensional cooperation with Pakistani
side, Li said.
Li said China welcomes the upcoming visit of Pakistani Prime
Minister Aziz to China and believes it will help step up the
bilateral cooperation. He said that China is willing to work along
with Pakistan to bring Sino-Pakistani strategic, cooperative
partnership to a new level.
Li on Monday evening concluded his two-day visit to Pakistan and
left for India to attend the summit of South Asian Association for
Regional Cooperation (SAARC), which is to begin on
Tuesday.
