Top legislator Wu Bangguo met in Beijing Tuesday with visiting
Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, highlighting to further
cooperation of mutual benefit with Thailand.
Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's
Congress, said that China and Thailand share close relations and
productive cooperation, which fruited from the joint efforts made
by the two sides and the supports from the Thai royal family.
He said Sirindhorn has made valuable contribution to bilateral
relations, noting that the development of China-Thailand relations
is the common aspiration of the two peoples.
China will join in hands with Thailand to expand the fields of
cooperation and further explore the cooperative potential in an aim
to strengthen the cooperation to benefit the well being of the two
peoples, Wu said.
Sirindhorn expressed her profound feelings to the Chinese
people, saying that she feels very delighted to see the achievement
China made in her China visits.
She said she would continue to study Chinese culture and Chinese
experience on the social and economic development and contribute to
boosting China-Thailand friendship.
At the invitation of the Chinese government, Sirindhorn arrived
here Monday afternoon for a 12-day visit.
Besides Beijing, Sirindhorn will also visit northwest China's
Qinghai Province, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region,
central China's Hubei Province, east China's Zhejiang Province and
China's economic hub Shanghai.
This is Sirindhorn's 24th visit to China.
