Top legislator Wu Bangguo arrived in Budapest on Tuesday for a
friendly and official visit to Hungary.
In a statement delivered at the airport upon his arrival, Wu,
chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress,
said that ties between China and Hungary are at a historical height
and the two sides have successfully expanded political mutual
trust, trade cooperation and humanitarian exchange which already
brought concrete profits to the two peoples.
Wu, as a guest of Hungary's House Speaker Szili Katalin, will
meet Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom, Prime Minister Ferenc
Gyurcsany and hold talks with Szili in an exchange of views on the
China-Hungary relations, inter-parliamentary cooperation and issues
of common concern.
Hungary is the second leg of Wu's three-nation tour to Africa
and Europe, which will also take him to Poland. Prior to Hungary,
Wu already paid a successful visit to Egypt.
