Adjust font size:

Senior Chinese and Cuban legislators on Tuesday held talks in Beijing on bilateral ties and issues of common concern.

Uyunqimg, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) met with Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada, president of the Cuban National Assembly of People's Power (CNAPP).

Both Uyunqimg and Alarcon said China-Cuba ties were "at a historic high," citing frequent high-level visits, enhanced mutual trust and fruitful cooperation.

At the invitation of the Communist Party of China, Alarcon and his entourage arrived in Beijing on Sunday. During their stay in Beijing, top legislator Wu Bangguo met with them.

The five-day tour will also take them to the country's financial center Shanghai and the economically dynamic province of Guangdong.
