Senior Chinese and Cuban legislators on Tuesday held talks in
Beijing on bilateral ties and issues of common concern.
Uyunqimg, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the
National People's Congress (NPC) met with Ricardo Alarcon de
Quesada, president of the Cuban National Assembly of People's Power
(CNAPP).
Both Uyunqimg and Alarcon said China-Cuba ties were "at a
historic high," citing frequent high-level visits, enhanced mutual
trust and fruitful cooperation.
At the invitation of the Communist Party of China, Alarcon and
his entourage arrived in Beijing on Sunday. During their stay in
Beijing, top legislator Wu Bangguo met with them.
The five-day tour will also take them to the country's financial
center Shanghai and the economically dynamic province of
Guangdong.
