A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on
Monday called for expanding judicial exchanges with Colombia to
facilitate bilateral ties.
Luo Gan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political
Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, spoke positively of close
cooperation between China and Colombia in various areas since the
establishment of diplomatic ties in 1980.
"The two countries have also maintained close cooperation in
judicial field," Luo told Cesar Julio Valencia Copete, visiting
President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Colombia.
Luo called on judicial departments of the two countries to share
experience and expand exchanges.
China will exercise its judicial practice according to its own
circumstances, and learn from other countries in this regard, Luo
said.
Valencia expressed admiration of the achievement China has made
in recent years, saying Colombia expects more exchanges with China
in the judicial area.
Valencia arrived in Beijing on Sunday, starting his first visit
to China.
