South Korean President highly commended Chinese continuous
efforts for pushing forward the process of six-party talks when
meeting visiting Chinese official on Monday, Chinese official
said.
Roh expects China to play a more significant role in maintaining
regional peace and stability when hold talks with Wang Jiarui, head
of the International Department of the Communist Party of China
(CPC) Central Committee, at the presidential office, Chinese
officials with Wang told Xinhua.
The two sides thoroughly exchanged views on bilateral relations
and international issues, the official said.
Wang expressed Chinese President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister
Wen Jiabao's regards to Roh during the meeting.
The bilateral ties between Beijing and Seoul have achieved great
leaps since the two countries established formal diplomatic
relations 15 years ago, Wang said.
China and South Korea are expanding cooperation in trade,
personnel exchange, education, technology and many other fields,
while maintaining good coordination and collaboration in
international affairs, Wang said. He stressed that China will
further develop the all-around cooperative partnership with South
Korea.
Roh congratulated the outcomes achieved in the latest 17th
National Congress of the CPC and the inauguration of the new
leadership of the CPC.
Roh said he looks forward to further development of the
bilateral ties on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the
establishment of the bilateral diplomatic ties.
Wang arrived here on Sunday on a working visit with an
invitation by the South Korean Foreign Ministry.
