China and Cote d'Ivoire on Monday celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with a reception in Beijing.
Feng Zuoku, vice-president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said the bilateral relations between China and Cote d'Ivoire developed smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic ties on March 2 of 1983, adding that bilateral cooperation had been fruitful and effective.
China appreciated Cote d'Ivoire government's adherence to one-China policy and support given to China on human rights and other issues, said Feng.
Feng said his association would continue to make active efforts for promoting understanding and friendship between the two peoples, cooperation and common development of the two countries.
Coffie Alain Nicaise, Ambassador of Cote d'Ivoire to China, said that there had been many great events of great political and diplomatic significance in the history of Cote d'Ivoire-China relations, noting that his country was grateful for the support and help from China and would continue to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations with China on the basis of peace, sincerity, friendship and solidarity.
