Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin met visiting Chinese senior party official Fang Li on Sunday in Chisinau, capital of Moldova, reports reaching Bucharest said.
Fang, deputy director of the Policy Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, conveyed a congratulatory message by Chinese President Hu Jintao to Voronin, who was re-elected as the chairman of the Moldovan Communist Party.
Fang said the Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to enhance communication and cooperation with its Moldovan counterpart so as to boost the ties between the two parties and the two countries.
For his part, Voronin said he appreciates Fang's presence as the CPC representative at the sixth National Congress of the Moldovan Communist Party on Saturday and is grateful for Hu's message.
The Moldovan president spoke highly of the ties between the two parties and the two nations, pledging to work with the Chinese side to bring the ties to a higher level.
Fang arrived in Chisinau on Friday at the invitation of the Moldovan Communist Party.
During his visit there, Fang also held talks with Moldovan Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu and Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, and met with Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Stratan.
