Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria arrived in Sanya, a scenic city in the southern island province of Hainan, on Friday, kicking off her state visit to China as guest of President Hu Jintao.

During her stay, the two leaders will exchange views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

Bachelet was also in Sanya for the annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), a platform for high-level interaction between leaders from Asia and the world.

With her arrival, all foreign leaders for this year's forum, due to open on Saturday afternoon in Boao, Hainan Province, had arrived.
