A delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) attended Thursday the 10th congress of the United Russia party.
Sun Xiaoqun, a member of the CPC Central Committee, on behalf of the CPC congratulated the party for the congress.
The CPC attaches great importance to its relations with United Russia and is willing to facilitate the all-around development of a Sino-Russian strategic partnership of cooperation through inter-party relations, Sun said.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who has headed the party since April, outlined at the congress a package of new measures to combat the international financial crisis.
Addressing more than 600 party delegates from across the country, Putin said the political prospects of United Russia would depend directly on whether the party is able to cope with the existing problems,
The Kremlin-friendly United Russia holds two-thirds of the seats in the State Duma, the lower house of parliament.
