One Chinese national was killed and two others wounded on Friday in a robbery attempt in Russia's far eastern city of Vladivostok, an official with local Chinese consulate's office told Xinhua on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in a local supermarket early Friday as several Chinese businessmen were ready to start off for procurement, Consul Gu Xuanhong said.
Five attackers wearing masks fired at three Chinese citizens, leaving one dead and two others wounded, Gu said, adding that one of the wounded has been in a coma.
According to reports of Russian media, a source with local law enforcement services said the robbers escaped without taking anything because they encountered resistance from the victims.
An investigation into the accident is underway, news reports said.
