The special court in charge of trying Mohammad Ajmal Amir alias Kasab, the lone surviving Mumbai attacker, Wednesday sacked the suspect's lawyer for defending a victim of the attacks, as the trial formally began Wednesday morning in Mumbai at the maximum Arthur Road jail.

Anjali Waghmare, who was previously given Z-degree or ministerial level protection by the government, was sacked by the special court set up in the jail which was the first time questioning Kasab in person, said Home Ministry officials.
