Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha arrived in Sanya on Friday to attend the 2009 meeting of the Bo'ao Forum for Asia (BFA) from April 17 to 19 in south China's Hainan Province.
Berisha is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao and hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao in Beijing shortly after the forum. The two sides will discuss issues concerning bilateral relations and other regional and international issues of common concern, according to the information from Chinese Foreign Ministry.
"I would like to do everything on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (between the two countries) to inject energies into bilateral friendship and cooperation," Berisha said in an interview with Xinhua prior to his China visit.
The BFA, established in 2001, is a high-level forum where governments, businesses and scholars promote regional economic integration and bring Asian countries closer to their development goals.
Under the theme "Asia: Managing Beyond Crisis," more than 2,700 participants will discuss how to cope with the international financial crisis.
Berisha's five-day official visit will also take him to the south China city Shenzhen.
