Kim Jong Il, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has inspected a military academy, the official news agency KCNA reported Wednesday.

Kim was satisfied with facilities improvement at the University of General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Unit 10215, said the report.

He also praised the effective education at the academy, which he said had enabled its students to arm themselves with the "Juche-oriented war methods," it said.

Kim said it was necessary to strengthen the "practical education" and education with the help of visual aids to train the students into "officers equipped with rich military knowledge and commanding ability."

The University of KPA Unit 10215 was established more than 60 years ago. The report didn't give the date of the visit.
