China will give one million US dollars in emergency humanitarian aid to Pakistan to help thousands of civilians displaced by fighting between the government and the Taliban.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said on Thursday that China took note of Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's appeal for international aid to help more than 500,000 civilians displaced by the conflict in the country's northwest frontier province.
"As a friendly neighbor, China pays close attention to the domestic situation of Pakistan," Ma said, adding the country will offer 1 million US dollars for emergency humanitarian aid to help with the refugees.
