Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss bilateral ties and the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
During the talks, Medvedev and Meng expressed satisfaction with the current development of bilateral relations.
They pledged to strengthen political mutual trust, reinforce strategic cooperation and deepen pragmatic cooperation so as to promote bilateral ties to a new level.
Meng also conveyed Chinese President Hu Jintao's greetings to Medvedev, who, in his turn, extended greetings to Hu.
Meng was here to attend the fourth session of the SCO Security Councils secretaries, which was meant to prepare for a SCO summit next month in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.
