20 more reach top of Mt. Qomolangma

Nine Nepali high altitude workers and 11 foreign climbers reached the summit of Mt. Qomolangma from Nepali side on Saturday, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, the 20 scaled the top of the world from normal route in the south side of Mt. Qomolangma in Nepal.

The foreign mountaineers, who made it to the top of the 8,844.43-meter mountain, including Michel A. Morles Carter from Panama among American, French and British nationals.

Among Nepali mountaineers, Lakpa Rita Sherpa is the first Nepali to climb the highest peaks on all the seven continents, while Kami Rita Sherpa has climbed Mt. Qomolangma twice during this spring and achieved his 14th successful attempt on the peak.
