China and Ecuador pledged to further boost military cooperation in Beijing on Thursday.
China-Ecuador relations were developing smoothly with frequent high-level visits since they forged diplomatic ties in 1980, said Chen Bingde, Chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, during talks with Ecuadorian Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces Fabian Varela Moncayo Thursday.
Chen said that China and Ecuador had no conflict of interests and it was in the fundamental interest of their people to enhance cooperation.
Recent years has witnessed further development of military-to-military relations of the two countries, said Chen, adding that the Chinese armed forces attached importance to its friendly relations with Ecuador and was ready to further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
Fabian Varela Moncayo spoke highly of China's development. He said that Ecuador was willing to go a step further to intensify cooperation with China and advance their military ties.
