Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic on Monday thanked China for its support of Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Serbian government attaches great importance to the cooperation between the armies of the two countries and is satisfied with the cooperation, Cvetkovic said during a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie.
Cvetkovic expressed the hope that both countries would make joint efforts to tap the potential for further cooperation in all fields.
Liang, for his part, said China appreciates Serbia's continued adherence to the one-China policy and its firm and explicit support to China on issues concerning the country's national interests.
Liang, who is also a state councilor, said bilateral ties have always developed smoothly despite the changing tides in the world and in their respective countries.
On Monday, Liang also met with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic to discuss issues of mutual concern.
Serbia is the second leg of Liang's three-nation tour to Europe, which has taken him to Slovakia and will take him to Bulgaria. Liang arrived in the Serbian capital on Saturday for a four-day official visit.
